UK climber, alpinist and adventurer Leo Houlding is well known for pushing the limits of what’s possible. Having conquered mountains and peaks across the world, Leo’s latest expedition aimed to rewrite the rules of Transantarctic exploration.The expedition brought Leo together with Jean Burgun, a French climber, and Mark Sedon, a Kiwi cameraman, to take on Spectre, one of the most remote peaks in the world. The mission’s three-phase trip broke new ground, with the team climbing a new route on the north face of the mountain and completing the trans-continental journey to the Gothic Range of the Transantarctic Mountains using traditional man-hauling techniques and modern snow-kiting technology.

In January, 2015, American rock climbers Tommy Caldwell and Kevin Jorgeson captivated the world with their effort to climb The Dawn Wall, a seemingly impossible 3,000 foot rock face in Yosemite National Park, California. The pair lived on the sheer vertical cliff for weeks, igniting a frenzy of global media attention. But for Tommy Caldwell, The Dawn Wall was much more than just a climb. It was the culmination of a lifetime defined by overcoming obstacles. At the age of 22, the climbing prodigy was taken hostage by rebels in Kyrgyzstan. Shortly after, he lost his index finger in an accident, but resolved to come back stronger. In 2017, Rickie Cotter and Lee Craigie rode the Tour Divide, a 2745 mile self-supported mountain bike race from Canada to the Mexican border. Shot entirely using a Go Pro and an iPhone, this film documents the journey the two friends made in a way The Adventure Syndicate hope inspires and encourages the watcher to get out there and have their own adventure.

Since she first summited Mont Blanc as a teen, Liv Sansoz knew she would make her life in the mountains. She was twice crowned World Champion in sport climbing, and eventually expanded her professional horizons to mixed climbing, ski mountaineering, and base jumping. In 2017, at 40 years old, Liv set out from her base in Chamonix, France to attempt to climb all 82 4000m peaks in the European Alps in a single year. In July 2016, the paraglider Antoine Girard set off on a three-week hike-and- y tour to explore the Karakorum mountains in Pakistan— alone. From the town of Skardu, he heads for the highest peaks of the Karakorum mountain range. The Frenchman has already twice failed in his attempts to climb the 8,051-meter-high Broad Peak and paraglide from the summit down into the valley. Now, his hope is that the upwinds will carry him and his chute to the summit—and possibly beyond. If he succeeds, he will set a new altitude record in paragliding, but the air is thin between the 8,000-meter peaks, and take-offs and landings are extremely tricky. Especially when you only have one person to rely on—yourself.

Adventure Not War' takes us into mountains of Iraq revealing a seldom seen, beautiful underbelly in a place scarred with devastation. With this film we take a new approach to war, inviting veterans to rewrite their histories in places where they served and heal wounds deeper than flesh and bone. We hope this film will help promote peace and a universal understanding that beauty can replace hatred if we strive for adventure, not war.
